Brockton Youth Council was reorganized in 2010 by Mayor Balzotti to ensure Brockton youth have a voice in the city. The goal of the council is to provide teens with a forum to bring issues from their peers to the Mayor's attention and work to create solutions to the problems youth face as well as to focus and follow up on the solutions developed during the annual Mayor's Youth Summit. The Youth Council also offers an opportunity for young people to gain leadership skills and participate in service projects that help the City of Brockton, like the Uniting Teens in Our Neighborhoods Campaign that began in the Fall of 2011.
