What is The 84 Chapter Challenge?
Chapters in high schools and community organizations from across the state will have the chance to earn points by conducting activities, attending statewide 84 events, and posting updates on their Chapter pages at The84.org.
The 84 is challenging Chapters to get 84 points to earn a group reward ($100 gift card) to celebrate their work for World No Tobacco Day (May 31st) ! You have until late May to earn points for this challenge.
BUT, there are also opportunities to win group prizes during the year! Points earned will be used for raffle entries.
How do Chapters get points?
- Activities from The 84 Activity Guide: 10-20 points per activity
- Attendance at The 84 events, like Kickoff & Training and Kick Butts Day: 30 points per event (a minimum of 2 Chapter members and an adult advisor must be present)
- Chapter updates on The84.org: 1 point per update
- The 84 Midday Dash--The 84 announces a super quick activity during the day that Chapters can do easily and earn points before the day ends: 1-5 points
Chapter pages on The84.org will show current points earned and help Chapters keep track of how many more they need to reach the goal of 84 points. Chapters have to update their page by Friday, May 24th to claim the Challenge.
IMPORTANT: To get credit for activities conducted or events attended, Chapters will need to post updates and photos about the activity on their Chapter's page on The84.org. The 84 staff will review and award points on the Chapter's web page within 5 business days.
How do Chapters win group prizes?
Chapters will receive a raffle entry for every 5 points earned (e.g. 20 points = 4 raffle entries). The 84 staff will draw a raffle in December, March, and June. Sample raffle prizes throughout the year include a bowling outing, movie passes, digital cameras, and more! The more points your Chapter earns, the more chances you have of winning!
The final raffle in June will be drawn from all raffle entries accumulated throughout the year.
All prize winners will be announced on The84.org.
