Annual Kickoff Gets the Year Rolling

On Saturday November 17th, over 120 youth took part in The 84 Movement’s Kickoff event in Worcester, Massachusetts. Participants came ready to show Big Tobacco that they are not fooled and won't be duped into a life of tobacco use.
Chapters from across the state learned new ways to promote the The 84, work toward change in their communities, and recruit other youth for the 2012-2013 school year. Chapter members participated in energizing workshops, learned new skills to promote tobacco prevention, and took part in fun activities. Youth had a blast knocking out Big Tobacco, testing their lung capacity, and taking fun pictures at the expo booths with old and new friends.
While the day was focused on information gathering and skill building, youth also networked and learned from each other.
The day came to a close after an energizing pep rally with chapter members chanting, “We are The 84, we won't take this anymore!” Overall, youth from around Massachusetts came together for a common cause, to let Big Tobacco know they mean business!
