The84.org User-Generated Content Guidelines
The 84 Movement uses the following guidelines to keep our online forums a productive and safe environment for everyone:
- Please treat everyone with respect and courtesy so that The84.org site will be a welcoming place for everyone in The 84 movement.
- It's OK to disagree with ideas, but please disagree respectfully. Don't make the disagreement about the people involved, instead make it about contributing the best ideas for the movement.
- Our members range in age from 13 to 19. Keep in mind that what you write should be appropriate for youth of all ages.
- Don't post links to other sites that contain images or content that may be offensive or inappropriate for our members.
- Please respect people's different beliefs and backgrounds. Keep in mind that we're all working toward the same goals.
- The 84.org website is intended to serve as a meeting place for The 84 movement. Discussions can focus on topics related to the movement, and other topics of interest to teens, such as:
- Contests
- Film Shorts Contest
- Friends
- Hobbies
- Movies
- Music
- Parents and family
- Healthy teen relationships
- Peer pressure
- Quitting
- School
- Don't use profanity or obscene language, or post any threatening or harassing messages. If you feel threatened or harassed, or if someone posts something inappropriate, tell an adult or email word [at] the84 [dot] org.
- Don't post your name, address, or other personal identifying information on the site. For more information about online safety, check out our safety tips.
- Don't post any personal information about other people.
- Don't spam, either by posting things repeatedly or by posting commercial links to blogs or comments.
- Have fun! Get to know the other youth in our movement! Share your thoughts and ideas and enjoy reading what others have to say!
