Privacy Policy

You've probably surfed around this website and checked out the cool stuff that it has to offer – or if you haven't yet, we'd suggest you check out this page first. To keep the site exciting for youth, we gotta talk about a few really important guidelines and tips to keep everyone safe. This is just a summary of our rules – to use our site, you'll need to read our policies.

First things first:

The84.org is for young people ages 13-19. If you're under 13, you're welcome to surf the site, but you can't submit any info about yourself. Sorry, it's the law! Come back when you turn 13 and register, post a profile, make comments on the EightyFourum, and order free stuff!

Also, another important thing is that we will be monitoring all things sent to us for posting—comments on the EightyFourum, photos, profiles, 84 Blog entries, etc. Not everything you send to us will get posted. If something is sent to the84.org that violates our policies or makes us uncomfortable, we won't post it. This is for YOUR safety and protection, and will help keep the site youth-friendly and free of anything insulting, disrespectful, or just un-cool.

Protect the identity of you and your friends. Here are some tips:

  • Don't post any personal information that would help a stranger figure out who you are. Like, don't use your name, age, school etc. for your username or in your posts.

  • Keep your password a secret! Your account is for you and you only.

  • Don't post things for or about your friends that makes it easy to identify them. And don't post any photos of others – just you. Make sure the photos you do post are appropriate – check with an adult if you aren't sure.

What goes on the web sometimes stays on the web!

Didn't know that? Well, when you post things online, it can stay somewhere in cyberspace even if we take it down. So make sure you are ok with everything that you send to us because if we post it, it'll be on our website for everyone to see!

But also, we want you to know that any information that you give the84.org to register on the site and order free gear will be kept with us. The84.org will not sell your information to anyone or publicize it in any way, except to share some info with the funder of the site, and we will do what we can to keep your information as safe as possible.

Play nice.

It can be a rough world out there, so we want to make sure the84.org is a safe space for young people. So keep your comments clean and not mean!

The comments or blogs posted are from young people and might not reflect the views of the84.org staff. We will be keeping tabs on comments, and will try our best not to post anything that promotes hate, violence, drugs or any of that other bad stuff. If you have concerns, or feel like we missed something, let us know through email at word [at] the84 [dot] org .

And lastly:

As the site changes, we might be making changes to these safety tips. So visit this from time to time to make sure you aren't missing anything new! And to really know what you are agreeing to by signing up, you must read our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy – they're long, but you’ll be glad you did it!

If you have additional questions, concerns or comments, or if you wanna close your account at any time, you can email us at word [at] the84 [dot] org .
