A youth-led movement fighting for a tobacco-free generation in Massachusetts.
YWCA TASK
TASK (teen advocates sharing knowledge) is a teen peer leadership program for high school girls. The YWCA provides opportunities for young women to become leaders and educators in their community. Through youth led facilitated involvement, TASK has done health tables at Malden High School and presented workshops to eighth grade students on critical issues. TASK has done presentations to various community groups such as the Board of Health, Malden city council and school committee, and concerned citizens on tobacco related issues. YWCA members have written and produced shows and PSAs (public service announcements) on Malden Access Television. Topics that TASK members strive to bring information to the public on are (to mention a few) tobacco prevention, civic engagement, racial justice, public speaking, substance abuse and financial literacy. Teen leaders promote health and wellness, social, emotional and academic well being.

The 84 warmly welcomes back YWCA TASK for another year of fighting against tobacco as a Chapter AND as a movement! 2012-2013 proves to be an exciting year full of opportunities to expose the tobacco industry, get more teens pumped about The 84, and take on The 84 Chapter Challenge.
