Meet the Team

  • Christian Badillo

    PROGRAM ASSOCIATE
    he/they

    Christian is a graduate of Stanford University and the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, where he received a BS in Biology and an MPH in Health and Social Behavior, respectively. Before joining The 84 Movement, he was a 12th grade AP math teacher in Austin, Texas. Christian believes that young people are society’s greatest asset for change, so he has made it his mission to provide spaces for them to grow as leaders and positively transform the world. In addition to his passion for substance use prevention, Christian enjoys distance running, playing the drums, and relaxing with his wife and pets.

  • Ed Rand

    SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER

    Ed’s desire is to help youth find what they’re passionate about, and then give them a voice to make a difference. He works closely with The 84 Movement’s Statewide Leadership Team; developing their leadership skills and supporting their work across the state. He also works with The 84 Movement’s Chapters.

  • Kelly McKora

    PROGRAM MANAGER
    they/them

    Kelly is a licensed Substance Use Disorder Counselor and mental health professional with a strong background in youth substance use prevention. With experience as both a prevention program coordinator and counselor, Kelly is passionate about supporting youth. They bring a positive youth development and community-centered approach to all aspects of prevention. Outside of work, Kelly is a proud parent of a toddler and an avid concert-goer who finds balance and joy through music and family life.

  • Mark Kowalski

    DIRECTOR
    he/him

    Mark has worked with youth as a teacher, mentor, program manager and facilitator in a variety of settings for more than three decades, both in the United States and internationally. He is adept at designing, implementing and managing youth empowerment programs, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with youth in Massachusetts on The 84 Movement. Outside of work, Mark loves spending time with his family, being outdoors, and cooking.

  • Victoria Nemeth

    PROGRAM COORDINATOR
    she/her

    Victoria is a graduate of Northeastern University, where she received a BS in Health Science and a Master of Public Health (MPH). Victoria joined HRiA in 2023 as a co-op student with the LEAH Project, where she supported College Readiness and Persistence Programming. She has since joined HRiA full-time as a coordinator, supporting a variety of projects, including the 84. Victoria is passionate about public health work, and she hopes to empower Massachusetts youth to create local, systemic change in their communities to advance health and racial equity.

  • Wes Carty

    PROGRAM ASSOCIATE

    As a passionate youth worker and optimist, Wesley believes in the infinite potential of young people. Cultivating their growth and recognition of that potential drives his current work. He finds joy in connecting with others and supporting them on their individual journeys. Wesley is also passionate about public and mental health and believes that advancing our understanding of these two areas is necessary for a brighter future.
